Angelica Panganiban, a Filipino American model and actress, who also serves as a TV hostess as well as a comedian. Panganiban has been dubbed the "new Queen of Drama" by a variety of media sources. Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston put her on ECMO care for life-saving treatment. She went septic and experienced multiple organ failure, including the kidneys that did not fully recover. Hemodialysis and later peritoneal dialysis was her new norm. After nearly 80 days in hospital, from near-death to long road towards recovery, she got home, however the course of her life changed forever. Angelica had completed a half-year of dialysis, and one year half year of treatment, was ready for her biggest operation of all: a kidney replacement. Her mom would be the organ donor. Angelica and her mother had an operation that was successful on September 13, 2013, at Emory University Hospital and Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Egleston, two hospitals that are located next to one another. Angelica Hale, a young teenager from Atlanta, who always thought of becoming an actor as well as a performer, is still pursuing that goal.
